Chord Active SilverPlus High Speed Cable HDMI

Uncategorized By Nov 22, 2010

The Chord Company has started to deliver its new high-end HDMI cable to retailers. The new Active SilverPlus High Speed HDMI cable with Ethernet replaces Active SilverPlus.

This new cable, fully certified as High Speed in all lengths – and available in lengths up to 15 metres – includes an audio-optimised audio return and Ethernet capability.

Active SilverPlus includes an updated version of the in-line high-frequency filter used so successfully on the original Active HDMI. The filter removes high-frequency interference ensuring the best possible picture and sound.

Significantly, the new Active includes heavier-gauge silver-plated conductors than those used in its predecessor. The addition of a third foil layer significantly improves shielding. The plugs are now die-cast and heavily gold-plated for improved connectivity and fit. This combination delivers better performance over longer runs in more difficult environments.

When asked about the significant notables of the new Active SilverPlus Nigel Finn technical director of The Chord Company replied “During testing we noticed that the most dramatic improvements to picture quality occurred when the Active HDMI was used to connect Set-Top Boxes. That’s not to say that there weren’t improvements when connecting high-end Blu-ray players just that the differences were more obvious when connecting STBs. The Active HDMI also brings worthwhile improvements to sound quality when used between DVD/BD players and receivers”.

The Active SilverPlus High Speed HDMI cable with Ethernet is available in lengths of 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 10 and 15 metres.
