Uncategorised By Aug 18, 2011

17 July 2011. Salisbury UK. Naim announced at the start of their Summer Sounds: On Stream road shows that it would be shipping a free of charge update for the award-winning HDX Hard Disk Player, the compact ripping UPnP server UnitiServe and the NaimNet music servers. Available: end August.

The updates are just successfully completing the last stages of a limited public beta and the golden disk will be released to the duplicators shortly.

Naim HDX, UnitiServe and NaimNet music server owners should contact their retailer who will carry out the upgrade for them or who will supply the necessary CDs and information.

The hard disk player / server upgrade to version 1.6 software adds access to over 17000 internet radio stations with control from front display, touch screen display, computer monitor, via the PC Desktop Client app or with native iPhone or iPad apps.

Naim’s Choice is available on the menus allowing access to exclusive higher resolution streams, including the 320 kbps stream from Radio Paradise. Full station art is displayed on the unit or the control device.

Version 1.6 also adds automated backup to NAS once a folder on a suitable NAS has been designated as the backup drive. Any new music stored to the internal drive or to the nominated music store will be backed up automatically on an incremental basis.  This simple, easy to set up, hassle free, set and forget backup method can ensure that owners don’t lose valuable rips completed over time and which would be devastating to replace.

The Version 1.6 update also includes minor bug fixes to ensure the product continues to provide many years of enjoyment and convenience.

Naim’s UnitiServe is powered by the DigiFi platform; leading edge software technology licensed from DigiFi Ltd of London.
